Laser Cutting: Build a Phone Holder

Learn the basics of vector graphics design while building a decorative desktop phone holder. You will learn to create and modify existing vector graphics and prepare them to be cut on our laser cutter. We will also discuss alternative software and design methods to get you started on your laser-cutting journey. This class is for anyone who is excited by the process of laser cutting but doesn't know where to start turning their ideas into reality. This class is not a substitution for laser cutter tool training. If you are trained on the laser you can run your own cuts, otherwise, the instructor will operate the machine with you.

In the process of creating your own phone holder, you will learn the difference between raster and vector graphics. Methods to generate vector graphics for laser cutting. Methods to modify existing vector graphics. How to prepare a vector drawing for laser cutting. Basic knowledge of software like Inkscape and Illustrator is recommended.
