Sewing Workshop: Make Your Own Bike Bag

  • Fabville at Somerville High School 81 Highland Avenue Somerville, MA, 02143 (map)

In collaboration with Commonwheels. we present the ABC’s of Bike Maintenance!

Bikes are an amazing way to carry stuff! Join us for a 101 introduction to sewing your very own simple cylindrical bike bags that you can mount on your handlebars or in a bottle cage! We'll be teaching absolute beginner sewing skills, so beginners are welcome.

Attendees are highly encouraged to bring durable, possibly waterproof fabrics, new or upcycled (a clean pair of old jeans can work!). Don't worry if you don't have anything to bring - these will also be supplied by event hosts. Attendees will leave with knowledge, a pattern to use, and some time to begin work on their bag (you may run out of time and need to finish it at a later date.)

The workshop will go no later than 7:30pm and may end before then. You're welcome to stick around afterwards to work on your bike, ask questions, or just hang out!

Please RSVP and sign the Waiver via Commonwheel’s Eventbright event.
